Year 12 languages

Year 12 students attending community language school (CLS) classes can either:

  • complete the Year 11 and 12 assessment as part of their studies in mainstream school (if their CLS language is offered there)

or

Examinations are available for:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • Korean
  • Modern Greek
  • Polish
  • Punjabi
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Vietnamese.

CLS can apply to receive additional funding for eligible Year 12 students attending CLS classes who successfully complete the QCAA Senior External Examination for Year 12 language studies. This information is submitted as part of the online application for funding.

The QCAA will provide confirmation to the Department of Education that the Year 12 students named in the completed online application for funding have passed the Senior External Exam. Therefore, the names provided in the online application for funding should match the official name the student uses in their mainstream school. The CLS will only receive the additional funding for those students who are confirmed by QCAA.
